How To Get Certified in ConnecticutThe state of Connecticut requires x-ray technicians to be licensed in order to practice. To become certified, an individual first must successfully complete a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Once completed, the student can apply for certification by the American Registry of X-Ray Technicians (AART). To qualify, the applicant must meet the ethics requirement of passing a background check and then sit for the test. Upon passing the test, a license can be obtained from the Connecticut Department of Public Health. To renew the license each year, 24 hours of continuing education requirements must be satisfied.
